When you have to let go of your clothes, have you ever thought, “I wonder if someone will take (buy) them...?” In today’s world, anyone can sell secondhand clothing online, so resale has become a familiar part of life.
At weavearth, we produce and sell our items on the premise that we will also buy them back. This is because, as the makers, we know their value best. Of course, we do not intend to restrict private resale between individuals.
Passing on care — toward a new vintage culture
By intervening, we aim to maintain product condition and connect the “spirit of caring for things” from previous owners to new ones. In this way, we believe the value of the products will not fall, but be maintained at a high level — helping to create the history that gives birth to vintage items.
Our products will eventually wear out. That is inevitable, and returning to the soil over time is part of maintaining a healthy environment. For products that can no longer be used as clothing, we plan to incorporate them into our forthcoming “circular project” (details to be announced). One idea is to re-spin them into yarn from fiber cotton.
