月にニューヨーク・テキスタイルマンスとグローバルヘンプファイバーサミットに参加することになりました。 このようなイベントがニューヨークで一定期間開催されることは、同地でのヘンプビジネスへの関心の高さや期待が現れているのではないかと思います。

コットナイズ（Cottonized：綿化）と言うように、ヘンプ原料を綿のように細かい綿状の繊維に仕立てます。原料を切り刻んだ上に、脱脂を行い真っ白にさらされた原料は、見た目は綿と変わりません。結果、綿との相性が良く、ヘンプは混紡が以前は主流でした。 weavearthは、コットナイズドヘンプは採用せずに、繊維本来の特性を生かすためにロングファイバーヘンプで編地を開発することを決定、試験開発をスタートさせました（2020年頃）。
