Let's grow together, weave together, and sow the seeds of new value.

Various approaches have been launched to create a "circular society." However, the path to coexistence with the current environment, including the impending "climate crisis," cannot be solved by a single company. weavearth is a seed among many ideas for a new era. We hope that many collaborators, including companies, individuals, and creators, will join us in growing this seed together while widely sharing design and development know-how. We believe that the wisdom contained in this plant material can be a source of hope for people of the new era who seek coexistence with the environment. Let's join together in creating value for the new era.

weavearth considers manufacturing to be a continuous circulation system, and works with experts in various fields to collaborate in business to bring out the potential of hemp materials.
By providing materials, technology, knowledge, etc., we collaborate with a variety of businesses to create new value in technology, materials, and knowledge, and we work with companies and research institutions that want to come up with new ideas using their own materials, technology, etc.

What weavearth can do

  • Collaboration in manufacturing

Weavearth will share its development knowledge with domestic and international partners who share its manufacturing philosophy, and will foster a community that expands the possibilities of linen and hemp through a variety of approaches that are environmentally conscious, such as enjoying the changes that occur over time, reusing, and repairing, in addition to creating new products.

  • Product Development

Using our accumulated wisdom and the latest research findings, we develop cutting-edge linen and hemp materials and optimize them into the products you need.

  • Restoring the natural environment

Hemp is a plant-derived material from the cannabis sativa plant that has been bred for industrial use. It has the effect of environmental restoration using natural plants, known as phytoremediation, and can produce many industrial materials (fibers, oils, building materials, paper, biomass fuel, etc.). It is currently expected to be used in a wide range of sectors around the world as a sustainable material. *It contains almost no THC (less than 0.3%), which is subject to drug regulations.

  • Innovation in manufacturing

We aim to design products from scratch with a recycling-oriented society in mind, and turn them into new products. We provide yarns and fabrics developed for sustainable design, product design initiatives based on reuse, and other related know-how.

  • DURABILITY & LONGEVITY

Suitable for long-term use and enjoyment

Linen and hemp are very durable fibers that have been used in daily life for many years. Furthermore, as the fibers become looser with repeated use, they become softer to the touch. The greatest charm of these materials is that they become closer to your lifestyle as they age, and the attachment to them deepens as they age. And when you're done using them, they return to the earth.

  • OLD KNOWLEDGE, NEW IDEAS

A new challenge for the linen master

weavearth is a new challenge for AKAI Co., Ltd., which conveys the wisdom of linen materials that has been cultivated in Kyoto for over 100 years. Compared to other fibers, linen and hemp require skilled experience and insight to produce. By widely disseminating this knowledge, we hope to generate ideas for a sustainable textile industry and contribute to the future of society together with a variety of players.
